GNOYO is currently a semi-finalist for the 2006 President’s Committee for the Arts and Humanities, Coming Up Taller Award. Each year the President’s Committee for the Arts and Humanities recognizes 15 organizations from across the nation providing outstanding community arts and humanities programs that celebrate the creativity of America's young people.

GNOYO is the 2006 Louisiana Governor’s Arts Awards recipient in the category Arts Organization-Education. The annual Arts Awards recognize Louisiana's artists, arts educators, businesses, and arts organizations based on the significance and magnitude of their contributions, the benefits of those contributions to Louisiana's citizens, and the nominees' record of involvement with the arts in Louisiana.

In 2003, GNOYO received the Tribute to the Classical Arts, Arts in Education Award for its service to the community.
