GNOYO Announces 14th Annual Concerto Competition Winners

On January 16, 2011, young musicians from the Greater New Orleans Youth Orchestras participated in GNOYO’s 14th Annual Concerto Competition in three divisions. Winners are: Georgia Bourderionnet, Symphony; Tessa Flesher, Philharmonia; Umika Kuroda, Sinfonia. More information on our talented winners here.

GNOYO musicians featured in the LPO’s Young People’s Concerts

Join GNOYO musicians Angelique Montes, Hiroki Fujioka, and John Wang in the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra’s Young People’s Concerts: Carnival of the Orchestra. Each musician is a winner of the LPO’s Young Artists’ Concerto Competition and will be featured in one of the following performances!

January 12th at 10 am: Angelique Montes

January 18th at 10 am: Hiroki Fujioka

January 18th at at 11:30 am: John Wang

Symphony Trip to France

Members from GNOYO’s Symphony Orchestra will be touring France for 10 days from June 18th to June 27th. They will be performing 5 concerts in cities such as Paris, Caen, and Dunkerque, among others. We have prepared diligently for this trip and we are excited to represent New Orleans and the United States in France!

You have the opportunity to join us virtually! A special website has been created that will have updates a pictures posted for you to experience France with us!

GNOYO’s “Haitian Youth Music Relief”

We are very excited to announce our plans for the Haitian Youth Music Relief! Now, more than ever, Haitian children need the comfort and emotional outlet that musical expression provides. Most of their instruments and supplies were lost in the recent tragedies in Haiti. Dr. Jean Montès invites you to make a difference in their lives. It is his goal to provide each of these young Haitian musicians with a replacement instrument (check your attics, basements and closets), supplies, and music to heal their hearts and give them a sense of hope for the future.
