GNOYO Alumna Named a 2008 Marshall Scholar

Twenty-two year old GNOYO alumna and former concertmaster Jenna Sherry was recently named a 2008 Marshall Scholar. Considered one of the most esteemed awards for American undergraduates, the program funds two years of advanced study at any university in the United Kingdom.

Following her graduation next spring from Indiana University, Ms. Sherry will spend the next two years studying with violinist David Takeno at London's prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Jenna SherryThis has been an exciting year for Ms. Sherry on many levels.  Having won the Kuttner Quartet Competition at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, her string quartet will be performing and competing nationally and internationally throughout the coming year.  In August, Ms. Sherry won second place in the Beijing International Music Festival's concerto competition and in September, made her professional solo debut, performing the Barber Violin Concerto with the Temple Symphony.

GNOYO extends congratulations to Ms. Sherry for her many accomplishments this year!
